Hello, I am Sofia
I am a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in Rome, Italy.
Several years ago I moved here with my family, and what began as a temporary assignment gradually opened a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Italy wasn’t part of the long-range plan. Like many international relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more complicated than they should be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning on the job. Yet gradually, routines fell into place. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Created Dawn Field Mosaic
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site exists to fill that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Italy.
What this site does (and doesn't)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in Italy
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site is not:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a paid review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our stay in Italy continues, and the learning journey goes on. As long as the information remains useful, I will keep recording what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Rome or anywhere in Italy, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Kind regards,
Sofia
